Pakistan is the Muslim country of Asia. Independence Day of Pakistan is celebrated on August 14 every year. Millions of people sacrificed their lives in the freedom struggle, and as a result of these sacrifices, a new state came into existence. Quaid-e-Azam is the leader of Pakistan. He spend all his life to create a separate territory for Muslims of sub-continents of Asia. In 19th century, British peoples came to Indian subcontinent for business and later they rule on Hindu and Muslim peoples.
Allama Iqbal is the national poet of Pakistan who wants to tell the Muslims through poetry that we cannot live with Hindu because our religion, theory and Rituals are not same. They sent the letters to the Muhammad Ali Jinnah and request him to come back to Indian Subcontinent and join Muslim League and works to create a free and separate country for Muslims where they can live together.
Early Stages of Freedom Struggle
During the British rule, the condition of Muslims in India was very critical. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the social, economic and political condition of Muslims worsened. The British government adopted a policy of differentiation between Hindus and Muslims, which resulted in serious damage to the political rights and interests of Muslims.
Leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah
Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah played a key role in the freedom struggle. He not only led the Muslim League but also provided a strong political movement to the Muslims. Under the leadership of the Quaid-e-Azam, the Muslims organized their freedom struggle and presented a strong case for freedom from the British rule.
Quaid-i-Azam believed that Muslims should have an independent and independent state so that they could preserve their religious and cultural rights. Under his leadership, Muslims launched a great movement, as a result of which Pakistan was established on 14 August 1947.
Price of Freedom
The cost of Pakistan’s freedom was huge. Millions of people sacrificed their lives for freedom, and many left their homes, families, and possessions as refugees in the new state. At the time of partition between India and Pakistan, millions of people were displaced, resulting in massive humanitarian suffering.
Celebrations
Various kinds of celebrations are organized on the occasion of Independence Day. Special programs and national songs are presented in schools and colleges. Students hoist the national flag and give speeches on the theme of freedom. On this day especially the new generation is made aware about the importance of independence and its historical status.
Special parades and flag hoisting ceremonies are also held across the country. On this occasion, the President and the Prime Minister raise the national flag and give a message to the nation. Various cities hold public events and celebrations, which are attended by large numbers of people. Pakistan has faced many challenges since independence, but the nation has faced the challenges with patience and determination at every opportunity. Steps are being taken for economic development, social justice, and national unity, and every member of the nation has a role to play in the development of his homeland.
